Repayments

You will not start to make repayments of your tuition fee loan and your living cost loan until you are earning over £21,000 a year. If your income falls below the threshold, your repayments stop until you start earning over the threshold again.

You repay a percentage of your income above the threshold. The amount you pay depends on how much you earn.

Tuition fee loans and maintenance loans are added together and a single repayment will be deducted from your salary, normally through the tax system.

Any outstanding balance is written off after thirty years.
